Performance – My Cloak Made of Colour, Air and Songs

The multidimensional performance, My Cloak Made of Colour, Air and Songsis part of the ongoing project – Cut from the Same Cloth by artist SeemaKohli. Through this project, Seema explores the connection of the self with the universal cosmos. Her artworks for the project communicate assorted subtleties of life and various pathways to nirvana, the ultimate liberation.
Her interest and engagement with Bhakti and Sufi culture, and poetry informs her narrative for this performance. The poetry used in the performance has been written over time, Seema draws reference from the verses of weaver saints like – Kabir, Nanak, Namdev, Baba Farid, Bulleh Shah, and Shah Hussain.
Through this performance, she tells an abstract story interweaving themes of beauty, sensuality, and spirituality. Poetry, animation, installation, live music, and movements all come together in this performance creating an unusual, yet marvelous story.
She is joined by movement artists, musicians and singers.
It will be performed at the ChandiniBagh, the amphitheater at Bikaner House, Delhi.
